Located in Oak Ridge, TN the new fire station marked the transition from dayshift operations to a 24/7 department. The new construction of the Y-12 First Station is 32,000 SF has 9 drive-thru bays and 20 bunk rooms. On the first floor there are response areas and space for the firefighters including bunk rooms, locker rooms, conditioning space, and common areas. The second floor contains a large training room and office space for staff.

Polysonics provided communication and network security services for this 32,000 square foot fire station. The team designed the IDF/MDF layout along with Voice & Data audiovisual infrastructure design, turn-key VoIP/PBX system design specification, WIFI system design, DAS systems, turn-key alert and emergency notification systems, as well as video surveillance system, access control and intrusion detection & alarm.
