National developers, Pulte Homes and Centex Homes, joined together to create Potomac Yard Development, LLC and purchased 165 of the 295 acres known as Potomac Yard. Planning of the mixed-use development consisted of 1.9 million square feet of office space, 135,000 square feet of retail, in addition to the existing 600,000 square foot retail center, 625 hotel rooms, and 2,200 residential units. Potomac Yard offers upscale urban living within walking distance to Braddock Road Metro Station and just a few miles from Old Town Alexandria and Washington, DC. Amenities include a 24 acre park, two playgrounds, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, two soccer fields, picnic areas, jogging and bike trails as well as a dog park.

Polysonics provided onsite traffic and railway noise measurements and three-dimensional computer modeling to determine the noise levels and impact from nearby roadways and railway. Building shell analyses were provided for the townhomes and multi-family buildings which included recommendations for exterior materials such as windows, doors and exterior walls. Additionally, IIC and STC recommendations were provided to reduce the noise transmission between units.
