Oakcrest School is a private, all girl school serving students of the middle and upper school grades. Outgrowing their current facilities, Oakcrest selected Davis Carter Scott, Ltd. to lead the architectural design team for the construction of a new school. Polysonics joined the team to provide acoustical, audiovisual, IT infrastructure and electronic security design for the three level, 90,500 square foot facility.
Polysonics’ design included LEED acoustics, core learning space and classroom acoustics, HVAC and mechanical noise control, classroom technology including interactive white boards, video projection, voice lift/classroom speech reinforcement, video display and CATV distribution systems, public address and paging, auditorium-gym audio, video, lighting, rigging, curtains performance systems, voice and data infrastructure, VoIP/PBX, LAN, and Wi-Fi networks as well as closed circuit TV, door access, intrusion detection and alarm, asset protection and emergency notification systems. The finished building will include classrooms, science labs, art rooms, a music room, a choral room, a multi-purpose room, library, gymnasium-theater, teacher resources room, and administrative and teacher offices.
