Northrop Grumman Headquarters
Falls Church, VA
Client: Northrop Grumman
Completion Date: 2010
In preparation of Northrop Grumman Corp’s Headquarters relocation to Falls Church, Virginia, the fourteen story, 334,000 square foot building at 2980 Fairview Park Drive was in need of an acoustical refresh. Polysonics teamed with Davis Carter Scott, Ltd. to provide an acoustical interior analysis of the conference and assembly rooms as well as the photo/video studio. The proximity of the mechanical rooms to these spaces, without the option of relocating them, made this project very complex.
Adequate sound proofing and HVAC design for low noise were provided for over forty various sized conference rooms including small, standard, large, CEO, Chairman’s and Executive video conferencing rooms, a law war room, an executive boardroom, a divisible assembly room, a crisis center, and lobby areas. Mechanical systems, including mounted roof top units, generators, and cooling towers as well as surrounding spaces were also designed to limit and control, noise generation.
