McKinley Elementary School

As part of the 2012 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for Arlington Public Schools, McKinley Elementary School would be renovated and an addition added to expand its student capacity from 443 to 668 students, due to increased enrollment. The addition was approximately 27,000 square feet and added 12 rooms to include nine additional classrooms. The original building slated for renovation included twenty one academic classrooms, an art classroom, four SC classrooms, one ESOL classroom, a music room, a cafetorium including a large stage, a library and full size gymnasium.

Polysonics design services included interior acoustics, classroom acoustics, gymnasium acoustics, mechanical equipment isolation, HVAC and mechanical noise control, air handling units noise control and corridor air supply units noise control.
