The renovation of Fauquier High School consisted of the replacement of an underperforming sixties classroom building with a four-story addition that contains classrooms, laboratories, administrative spaces, and common areas, as well as a monumental connecting staircase that promotes interaction and activity. The design of this four-story addition draws inspiration from a set of active design guidelines that encourages movement and active utilization of the built environment to strengthen the health of students, staff, and faculty. The project completed in May 2013, consisted of an 87,000 square foot addition 10,950 sf renovation of the existing facility.
Polysonics designed the audiovisual presentation and video conferencing systems for the Falcon Room and theater renovation along with performance and interior acoustics for the Falcon Room and the band and choir rehearsal spaces.
