The transformation of a repurposed high school in Chesterfield County, Virginia into a Career and Technical Center required a complete overhaul of the 198,000 square foot building. A multi-functional design was implemented that combined career and technical education, school administration and an event center. Specialty career and technical education spaces included labs, lecture and research areas for bio-technology, homeland security, ecology, Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, and mechatronics. Polysonics provided networks and communication, audiovisual and electronic security design services for the conference center, career and technical education and administration spaces. Voice and data infrastructure, VoIP, LAN, WiFi network design, HD video presentation, conference room audiovisual systems, room combining systems, video conferencing, audiovisual control systems, classroom instructional technology, speech reinforcement systems, and CATV systems video surveillance were incorporated in the design.
